The Cartridge Eliminator
Available for Epson, Canon and HP Printers
This is the way to save a lot of money. It is one of the coolest things we have ever invented. The printer sucks ink from the bottles, and you never have to buy another cartridge again. The bulk ink is about 10% of what a cartridge costs. We have tens of thousands of these units in the field and a lot of very happy customers. So if you feel the pain of buying cartridges, this is the answer. Eliminate the cartridges by using a MIS Cartridge Eliminator.

How it works - Ink is kept in 125 ml bottles next to the printer. Clear ribbon tubing is connected to the ink bottle on one end and to the ink cartridge on the other. When a drop of ink leaves the ink cartridge, during printing, a new or replacement drop comes in from the ink bottle. The print head mechanism has enough power to suck the ink up out of the bottle and into the cartridge via the tubing. The tubes are carefully routed and attached so that they do not interfere with the left to right motion of the cartridges during printing.

The outboard ink bottles or reservoir holds more than 10 times the amount of ink that the cartridge holds. When the ink in the bottles becomes low, it is easy to fill the reservoir bottles from another, larger source of ink. There is one bottle of ink for each color the printer uses. Under average usage, the set of external inks will last weeks if not months.

Some printers have onboard chips to keep track of ink used. The MIS Cartridge-Eliminator has onboard chips that automatically reset themselves to full when the printer power is turned on. So, the printer never knows it has used more ink than it is supposed to use. A well made printer, given proper care can process gallons and gallons of ink before it wears out. The savings over the life of the printer, achieved by using the MIS Cartridge Eliminator, can be in the thousands of dollars.

Epson Stylus Photo 1280
The Epson 1280 dominates the Epson printer population. This was one of the first CFS units designed by MIS Associates Inc. Note the clear acrylic piece. It is positioned to retain the ink tubes, and to allow the printer cover to close. Without this clear bracket installed the tubing would slap up against the cover, driving the user crazy. With the cover down, there is silent operation, and the printer is protected from dust and contaminants in the environment.
The 1280 CFS will work in Epson 1270, 1280, and 1290 printers. It is easy to install and will produce beautiful prints in high volume at a cost less than 10% of what it would cost to use Epson cartridges.
The 1280 CFS comes either empty or with a variety of MIS ink types including, dyebase ink for beautiful glossy prints, pigment color inks for making fine art prints that have fade resistance over 100 years, or MIS Ultratone Black & White ink for producing stunning gallery quality black and whites.

Epson Stylus Color C88
The Epson C88 is a great little printer for the price. By adding a MIS Cartridge Eliminator, it is fantastic. It will produce hundreds of copies each day and it goes, and goes and goes. We previously designed similar systems for the C80, C82, C84, and C86. It is interesting to see Epson pump out these printers, each version gets a little better.

The output quality of the C88 is great for everyday work, fine art color and black white prints, and for making T-Shirt transfers. The Black White prints are especially impressive.

The C88 Cartridge Eliminator is compatible with the Epson C84 and C86 printers. So if you upgrade your printer, the system is compatible.

The C84, C86, C88 will take our MISPRO pigment ink, Dyebase ink, Perpetual Archival (for T-shirt transfers) or MIS Ultratone BW inks. The C88 is a 4 color printer, so the cost of an inkset is 50% less than the cost of a 6 ink printer.

Using the C84 or C86 is recommended for making Black & White prints. Those who have experienced the gallery quality B&W output are simply amazed. We designed a special EZ Black and White ink just for the C84/C86 printers.

Epson Stylus Photo R200 / R220
The Epson R200 & R220 printers produce fabulous looking photo prints using MIS dyebase ink. The printer is a 6 color printer for optimum flesh tones and metalic reflections.

The MIS Cartridge Eliminator is a great addition to these printers if you plan on printing multiple copies of your photographs or brochures. It is a favorite with wedding photogrphers (for proof photos), and realestate agents (for home sales flyers).

The Eliminator is easy to install and runs trouble free. The lid can be closed and it runs very quiet. Our USA engineered design will outlast the printer.

MIS Dyebase, Pigment and Black & White inks can be used with this printer.

Epson Stylus Photo R300 / R320/ R340
The Epson 300, 320 and 340 printers all use the same MIS Cartridge Eliminator. These printers are very similar to the Epson R200 and R220 printers, except they have the ability to print directly from the the memory strip or disk from a digital camera. Nice if you don't want or need to send your prints to the computer for editiing first.

The Cartrdige Eliminator design is a little different. The ink tubes exit the printer on the left instead of the right. This is necessary due the to front panel controls for the digital camera image processing.

MIS Dyebase, Pigment and Black & White inks can be used with this printer.

Epson Stylus Photo R800
The Epson R800 is a special printer that uses a clear gloss optimizer ink to produce uniform reflections over the entire print. Many professional photographers use the R800 and the wider R1800 for their printing.

Because of the class of user being a high volume printer, we created a Cartrdige Eliminator for the R800. This reduces the cost of doing business with the R800 and makes it a viable source of output for both the professional and expert photographers.

This printer has 8 cartridges and uses red and blue inks instead of the more standard light cyan and light magenta inks. It also has both a matte and photo black ink cartridge installed at the same time.

Becasue it has both blacks, it can make glossy photo prints or matte finish prints without having to change the black ink cartridge. The Epson driver for the R800 applies the gloss optimizer over the white area of the print, to equalize the light reflection accross the whole print surface.

Epson Stylus Photo 2200
The Epson 2200 is a great printer. It uses pigment Ultrachome color inks, prints upto 13 inches wide, and has individual cartridges (7) for each color.

It makes great fine art prints, and black & white prints. Because of the small drop size (3 pl) and the fine control that the Epson driver provides, it can be used as a black only printer.

With the addition of a MIS Cartridge Eliminator, the 2200 can be turned into a work horse for mass producing fine art prints.

The 2200 can be set up with MIS 7600 Ultrachome equivalent color inks, MIS PRO pigment color inks, or MIS UT7 Black & White inks. All of these inks are archival and have fade resistance greater than 70 years.

One thing we wish Epson had done, was to put in one additional cartridge slot. With only 7 cartridges, the black position must be changed from photo black to matte black. Both are not present at the same time. This means if you change from glossy paper to matte finish paper, the black ink has to be changed.
